Pixel Fold 2 has an overhauled exterior design
According to the high-resolution CAD render shared by @OnLeaks, the Pixel Fold 2’s internal display is 7.9 inches and the dimensions in the open state are 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.27mm. Compared to the previous generation, it is more square and the screen size has increased.
The top of the body is equipped with an antenna strip and secondary speaker grille, the right side is the power and volume button, and the bottom is the USB-C port, speaker grille, microphone and SIM card slot. There is a camera in the upper right corner of the phone’s internal display which is said to use an under-display camera solution and be equipped with a new sensor.
In the folded state, the outer screen of the Pixel Fold 2 phone is 6.4 inches in size and measures 155.2 x 77.1 x 10.54mm, slightly thinner than the previous generation’s 12.1mm.
The back of the camera body has undergone huge changes compared to the previous generation, it has abandoned the classic design elements of previous Pixel series products and adopted a new camera module with a rectangular design. Stronger performance with Tensor G4 chip
Previously, there was information that the device would skip the Tensor G3 chip used on the Pixel 8 series and be equipped with a new generation Tensor G4 chip, 16GB LPDDR5 memory and at least 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage, and be Android 14 pre-installed.
However, it is worth mentioning that the Pixel Fold 2 is still in the early stages of the Engineering Verification Testing (EVT) phase and needs multiple iterations before mass production (MP), so there is still a possibility change in the future.
If Google really chooses the newer, more powerful Tensor G4 chip, the launch time may be pushed back to the second half of this year. But of course, Google can completely surprise users by early introducing Pixel Fold 2 with the new Tensor G4 chip in the first half of the year.
